My coffee came with a bit of inspiration one afternoon and I decided to actually act on it for once. Animated in Flash and with rough audio in 4 hours, later on polished and enhanced sound by Leisure-B from humanworkshop.com
We have a rescue cat in our home at the moment, he’s a bit of a weird one. We called him Mouse for the time being…
I was directing animator working together with animator and friend Cako Facioli and sound designer Daan Hendriks.
We’ve had a lot of fun making this trailer from scratch, the sky was the limit. The animation was done in Adobe Flash, Anime Studio Pro and compositing in Adobe After Effects.
It’s been a great year (2010) having been intensely involved in the production of The Land of Me. A bunch of things I was responsible for:
Made In Me has released “The Land of Me”, all 6 chapters are available online. It’s an interactive learning game that follows the adventures of a young trio, a raccoon, an owl and a bear through all locations of the Land of Me. They imagine, dance, construct buildings, sing, hike and tell stories with all the wonderful and interesting older animals they come across.

I will be making a short ‘making of’, to take you along the creative road we took and to explain some of the techniques we used and issues that had to be solved.
Each chapter of The Land of Me is unique in it’s own, with unique problems that had to be solved creatively and technically. Working together with the developers at Less Rain to get the interactivity Made In Me was looking for. All of us had a lot of input in the final result, I think this is what makes the Land of Me a very rich experience.
Lots to say still, follow me on twitter for a heads up when it’s there.
(update) Adobe has produced their own case study on the Land of Me over here
These are a few of the illustrations I was asked to make for an interactive game by NYOYN, a physical games developer in The Netherlands. With ‘Soundsteps’ Kids jump on coloured pads that are wirelessly connected to a sound speaker. The illustrations have been printed on cards that start the various games when inserted in the speakerbox…
Last July (2009) I enjoyed animating this little short commercial at Tandemfilms under direction of Daniel Greaves and with character designs by Helene Friren. Everything was animated in Flash, but mostly traditionally frame-by-frame.
